Back to the top Do I have to register my domain name with InterNIC or do you do that for me? We register your domain (www.yourdomain.com) for you! Unlike other web hosting companies, we DO NOT charge you to file for your domain name. InterNIC is currently the organization that holds registered domain names. They are NOT the only registrar. We will regster your bill you in the amount of $15.00 which is good for one years. After that year, we will bill you $15.00 for each additional year. You are listed as the owner of your Domain name. You are listed as the Administrative Contact and the Billing Contact. Network-Servers only acts as a registering agent and Rosserver.com is listed as the Technical Contact to help you make any changes. The "Price is Everything" Plan comes with 20 MB of disk space and can hold over 500 pages with plenty more room for graphics, sounds, scripts, and other files! The "Size Matters" Plan comes with 100 MB of disk space and can hold over 2,000 pages with plenty more room for graphics, sounds, scripts, and other files! The "Bandwidth Rules" Plan comes with 20 MB of disk space and can hold over 500 pages with plenty more room for graphics, sounds, scripts, and other files! The "Value Oriented" Plan comes with 200 MB of disk space and can hold over 5,000 pages with plenty more room for graphics, sounds, scripts, and other files! Our servers have a bandwidth-on-demand connection with Frontier Global Center, Qwest and Level 3 all Tier 1 providers, servicing such giants as Yahoo and Netscape. We are linked by a fiber optic cable. Giving you incredible speed at all times! There will be times of network congestion, however, in which our machines seem unreachable from some locations, this is not because of our connection, and is no indication of the online status of our machines. Back to the top Do you offer secure server space for transferring credit card information? YES! Our servers are equipped with the latest SSL technology so your customers can safely order your products or services online! Normally, any text sent from your browser is sent as plain text. This means that a hacker could potentially intercept the information sent from your browser and read it. With our strong encryption, there's no need for you to pay for a certificate -- we already did! Just pick any hosting plan -- except the Budget Plan -- and tell tech support to turn on the SSL, they will write you back with your Secure Server name and instructions on how to call it. By using the secure server (SSL), the information is encrypted before it is sent. It would be practically impossible for anyone to decrypt it without knowing the key. You DO NOT have to buy a security certificate (right now) to enable the secure server - you can use ours FREE of charge. We will provide you with the name of the server when your account is activated. Back to the top What is a "parked" domain name and how much does it cost? Parked domains are aliases of other domains. For example, say we have mary.com parked to your main account at steve.com. This would mean that anyone who goes to mary.com would automatically go to steve.com. There is no actual hosting involved with mary.com. Mary.com merely acts as a nickname to steve.com. Parked domains are available for a one time $10.00 setup fee. If we register the name for you, we will be happy to park it for free. Back to the top Can I upload pages frequently? Each account comes with one FTP/Telnet account. You have full access to your space via FTP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can update your site at your leisure. Back to the top How much data transfer (bandwidth) do you allow for my web site? The Budget Plan, we call "Price is Everything" comes with 500 Megabytes of data transfer per month. The "Size Matters" Plan also comes with 500 Megabytes of data transfer per month. These scripts; are used to generate online order forms, guestbooks, shopping carts, counters, and more! YES, every account comes with a local CGI-bin! and the Online Instrustional Manual has instructions on how to access the scripts already loaded in the Global CGI-bin. Back to the top What CGI scripts come already installed? All hosting accounts comes with a hit counter, a search engine, a site creation tool, a form emailer, and a file manager. Back to the top What are autoresponders/infobots and how many do I get? You can set up autoresponders to automatically respond to incoming email. For example, if you had an order form which your customers email to you, you can set up an autoresponder to email the customer a confirmation message. They're also known as Infobots. There are many other uses for autoresponders/infobots, such as giving information to people who don't have access to the Internet but still have an email account such as Juno. Email aliases are email addresses that you make up. Any mail sent to these aliases would automatically be forwarded to your existing POP email account and/or redirected to another third party e-mail account. You can have as many email aliases as you want, your mail account is pre-configured to "Catch All" email directed at anyname@yourdomain.com. But, you can change that in many different ways Back to the top What about the Traffic Statistical Software? Traffic analysis software comes pre-installed with every web hosting account! We use HTTP-Analyze and it is very easy to access. If you already have an account with us, you can access your weekly stats by typing http://yourdomain.com/stats/. We provide web hosting services to many clients and from experience we have found that handling support request via e-mail to be to our clients greatest advantage. We answer all email on the same day it is received - most often in only a few hours. We have implemented an Online Support Manual to help you with all aspects of your web hosting account. In the event your are experiencing server difficulties outside the scope of the manual you can email Tech Support at support@rosserver.com. We respond to All server related support email on the day that is is received. For emergency purposes only (i.e. if your site has been down for longer than 30 minutes), you may dial our voice number (1-985-781-5224) to speak to Tech Support or leave a detailed explanation of your problem. A technician or manager will respond to your request(s) promptly and reply by e-mail. Back to the top What kind of Tech Support do you NOT provide? We do NOT provide any Tech Support relating to HTML syntax, Java programming, JavaScripting, any 3rd party software, CGI programming, or CGI scripts, nor any other non-network related aspect. In the event that you submit email pertaining to any of the above, it is likely that we will not be able to help with your problem, however, With the Network-Servers by REM Services you will always receive a response! Back to the top What types of account activities are prohibited? - WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TOLERATE SPAMMING Any accounts failing to adhere to this policy will be deactivated without warning Sites involved in spam (see the rules) will be deleted and a page stating that fact will be linked to your domain name. - ADULT CONTENT AND LINKS TO ADULT CONTENT ARE NOT PERMITTED - Adult products and drug paraphernalia - Illegal activities, like drugs, warez, unauthorized mp3's, gambling, tax-free cigarettes etc. will be reported to the proper authorities. - Hateful politics, religious or racial bigotry has been shown to be very dangerous and we must ask you to just take it somewhere else.
