Who is InterNIC?
The InterNIC (like internet nicknames) is an independent organization responsible for holding the registration and routing of Internet domain names.  Without this monopoly it would be virtually impossible to maintain a sense of sanity on the Internet.  Internic can hold the names but anyone with the computer power (like their own company -- Network Solutions Inc.) can register them.  Rosserver now has that power, and does it quicker and for less.

When my domain name is registered, who owns the domain name?
You do.  When we register your domain name with the InterNIC, we will put you as the administrative and billing contact.  Whenever you want to make modifications with your domain name, the administrative or billing contact is always contacted first.  Since Network-Servers registers your domain name, we will remain as the technical contact.  If for any reason you do not want us as the technical contact, you will be able to modify your account with InterNIC.

What is the fee regarding InterNIC domain name registration?
New domain names registered with NetworkSolutions.com after April 1, 1998 cost $70.00 good for the first two years.  Each additional year is $35.00.
If you check the box in the orderform to let us register your New Domain Name it will be $19.95 total, no separate bill from Network Solutions good for one years and renewal will be $19.95 per year.  We pay the entire registraton year after year for those who chose to pay for 1 year of hosting in advance -- Yes, it's free.
Or go to Network Solutions and pay more.

Do I have to pay the InterNIC fee?
NO!  The Internic/Network Solutions Monopoly is Over.  Domain registration is now so cheap that their are hundreds of registrars doing discount registrations for as little as $8.00 per year.  Rosserver will pay this fee for you, year after year for your hosting business paid a year in advance.

How can I register foreign domain names (.uk, .se, .ca, etc)?
Rosserver.com requires foreign domain registration to be completed by the owner of the domain.  Please contact our Tech Support staff for information that you will need when registering.

How long does it take for the world to access my domain name?
We, of course, will setup your domain name on our servers within 10 minutes.  While setting up your site, we will simultaneously register your domain name with the Network-Servers.com.  Network-Servers takes less than 24 hours to complete new domain name registrations (for the past few months, InterNIC registration has been very swamped, so it's possible for it to take longer).  However after this time period, it truly depends on ALL networks and ISPs of the world to update their servers and lookup your new domain name.  Some popular dial-up ISPs (i.e. Earthlink, Slip.Net, Sprynet, Grid.Net) take less than 6 hours to update their servers, while others will take more than 3 days.  So if you are still using a dial-up connection to the Internet, make sure you have a reliable ISP that promply updates its DNS servers, so you can access yourdomain.com right away.

What can I expect if I am transferring a domain name to Network-Servers?
Expect an email from InterNIC!

If you have already registered domain name, Network-Servers will handle your transfer.  Network-Servers will send a modification template to InterNIC, and they will in turn send confirmation of the request to the administrative, and technical contact of the domain name involved.  Only one person must agree to the email and reply-back to the InterNIC for the transfer to successfully go through.  Read it, put a "Y" where they tell you to, and send it back from the e-mail address it's registered to.

If you have used Register.com, Tucows.com or one of the other new "Not Internic" places we will need your account information to transfer your domain name for you. You are always free to transfer it yourself with the information below if you feel uncomfortable sharing your password, but your domain name will not work until transfered.

How do I know if my domain name is still available?
Use the link at the top of our order page to enter the domain you wish to search for.  This will open a popup window to search the InterNIC database in real time to see if the desired domain name is available this moment.
